This painting shows three classes of British Rail diesel electric locomotive at the refuelling point at London's Kings Cross station in August 1977. Nearby Finsbury Park locomotive depot, where I worked at the time, was responsible for providing staff and supplies to the refuelling point. Shown left to right are classes 55, 31 and 47 locomotives, types which were allocated to and serviced by Finsbury Park on a daily basis.
