A$500

Introduced in 1960, "The Heron" was a commuter train service which ran between Emu Plains and Sydney to service the workers from the Penrith Valley. Comprised of electric multiple unit "U" set rolling stock, affectionately known as "U-Boats", the service joined similar services, "The Fish" and "The Chips" already serving the Blue Mountains townships at that time.
