New South Wales 36 Class locomotive 3650 lifts the Central West Express through the cutting at Marrangaroo near Lithgow in 1962 enroute from Sydney to Bathurst and Orange. In 2009 the landscape remains much the same. Colour light signalling has replaced the semaphore but the concrete base beneath the signal in the painting is still in place!
