Mamre, a project of the Sisters of Mercy Parramatta, commenced in 1986 with a vision to be ‘A place of promise where individuals are enabled to realise their potential and contribute to the community’.
The sisters have an ongoing 20 year lease relationship with the NSW Dept of Planning to care for the original Samuel Marsden homestead located on 86 hectares of flood plains of South Creek near St Marys.
In partnership with the NSW state government and with the support of many community agencies and Friends of Mamre they have renovated the old homestead and cared for the grounds to create a place of beauty and hospitality.
