This is a view from a friend's home at Burrell Creek near Taree on the north coast of New South Wales. Starting as an on site, "en plein air" painting, the result was so unsatisfactory that it was almost totally reworked on my return to Sydney. The countryside is unusually green following recent rain but a few days of summer heat will soon see the grass brown off and return to the dry, parched appearance that is so typical of the Australia landscape.
