Following the uncontained explosion of a Rolls Royce Trent 900 engine over Indonesia in November 2010, Qantas grounded its fleet of six Airbus A380 aircraft pending investigation into the cause of the incident. Services were recommenced in December after each aircraft had undergone extensive examination and engine replacement where necessary.
